Evening Vadai

May 3, 2006

If you go to a tea shop in tamil nadu, you can find red, green, pink plastic plate, in which a banana leaf strip will be placed. A bajji or vadai will be placed and coconut chutney will be served!

Just remembered the vadai, bajji and chutney, so shared the thought.

Tamil Media is polarized a lot!

May 3, 2006

Till now, only televisions in tamil nadu were polarized. But now, even newspapers are polarized. There is no popular media, which is non-polarized.

Considering the fact that we are a democratic country, public considers that the media is a very important tool to make some important decisions like voting etc.,

Sun TV has a huge list of media power, which was stated in one of our earlier tamil nadu political news article.

Jaya TV is also associated with a political party.

Now, a low profit earning Tamil Newspaper is taken over by SUN Network and gets it to people for just a rupee! This has made destruction to the future of the other tamil newspapers – dina thanthi(daily thanthi), dinamalar etc.,
If you notice, these newspapers are towards AIADMK these days and against DMK.

Actress Shilpa Shetty and Reema Sen’s reaction

May 3, 2006

Actor Shilpa Shetty reacts to the non-bailable arrest warrant issued against her by a Madurai court.

A local court in Madurai on Friday issued non-bailable warrants against actresses Shilpa Shetty and Reema Sen for ‘posing in an obscene manner’ in photographs published in a Tamil eveninger.

“I think there are more important and crucial issues that need to be tackled. Such issues certainly don’t deserve headlines. And frankly, I haven’t received any summons from the court. Even if something like this happens, I have full faith in our judiciary,”she says.

“It’s a democratic country. What I do is my concern as long as I know where to draw the line and not offend anybody,”she says and adds as an afterthought, “As far as my photographs go, what is obscene about it? If navel-showing is obscenity, then our traditional Indian outfit – the traditional sari -too should be banned.”

So, how does Shilpa define obscenity? “It is the way one perceives it. Sometimes, shooting in the rain can look obscene if it is not shot aesthetically. Or a short skirt can look sexy, if it’s shot in a tasteful way. It depends on certain camera angles,”she explains.

Well, what do you think? It is a mistake by the eveninger, but why does the police/court behind this actress!!?? Not sure…

Latest News straight from Madurai

May 3, 2006

Election Observers withdrawn:

Three election observers have been withdrawn from three constituencies in Madurai district following complaints against them by political parties.

The three observers are Rupram Jowal (Samayanallur), Ameet Jha (Tiruparankunram) and Aswini Kumar (Madurai east) would not be given any election related work in Tamil Nadu or anywhere else.

The Returning of a missing dalit candidate:

The Dalit Makkal Peravai president, P Muthukrishnan, contesting as an independent candidate from the Samayanalur constituency, returned home today after he went missing on April 28. It is claimed that he was kidnapped by the ruling party folks and kept near bangalore.

Voters are confused:

It is found that voters are confused about whom to vote now, considering so many materialistic promises from all the political parties. If one claims to provide 1 KG rice for 2 Rs., another claims to provide 10KGs for free and another for 15 Kgs for free. One gives Color TV, another gives Free mobile phone. One gives unemployement benefits. One gives gold for a poor daughter’s marriage. etc., etc.,

Nobody had claimed that they would give employment opportunities, proper education. Well, if we see from a marketing perspective, the market and prospects they are aiming for is just poor people from 54% voting percentage of people.

Only God has to Tamil Nadu!!
